Mission Avenue I-5 Sidewalk Closure Forces Oceanside Pedestrian Detour Until Late September

Oceanside pedestrians face a significant, two-and-a-half-month detour starting Monday, July 6, as the westbound Mission Avenue sidewalk over Interstate 5 (I-5) closes for a major infrastructure upgrade. The closure begins at 6 a.m. and will last until September 28. This work is a critical component of a joint project by Caltrans District 11 and the City of Oceanside to realign and enhance the I-5/Mission Avenue interchange.
